Kto zna angielski na tyle, by zrozumieć dosłowne znaczenie, już widzi błąd typu „zgubiło się w tłumaczeniu”. Bliższa bowiem oryginałowi jest wersja „władza ma tendencję do korumpowania, a władza absolutna korumpuje całkowicie”. A to zasadnicza różnica.
Ta mała dywagacja jest wstępem do odpowiedzi na jedno pytanie „Co jest nie tak ze współczesnymi lub współczesnymi wersjami starszych bohaterów?”.
